Company Information

UvA JobBoard is a job board with internships, side jobs and entry-level jobs exclusively for UvA students and recent graduates. The goal of the platform is to connect UvA students and alumni of all academic disciplines with companies and vice versa.

Criteria for posting a vacancy

  • As a user you automatically agree that we will keep you informed of changes to the platform and that we may contact you about participating in UvA career activities for students.
  • All posted vacancies should match the academic level of the students.
  • You may have a maximum of 10 active job postings online per main profile. You can edit your active job postings and put them on and offline if needed. Submit a new submission only when you want to offer a job posting for a new position.
  • Intermediaries who recruit and/or select candidates for other organizations will not be admitted unless they are recruiting for internal vacancies.
  • We always reserve the right to deny participation in the platform or not post specific job opportunities.
  • We do not accept job postings from Start-ups consisting of less than 5 employees.
  • Freelance jobs for international students won't be posted as there is a possibility that students may lose their residency permit as a result of freelance work.
  • There are additional requirements for internships, see below.

Internship placement criteria

Each program within the UvA has its own criteria for determining whether an internship is within the curriculum for the student. Internships must meet at least the following criteria:

  • Academic level.
  • Internship compensation.
  • The opportunity for students, in addition to gaining relevant work experience, to work on their own research question or project.
  • Good supervision for the intern, ideally a professional with the same study background.

Additional criteria for IT internships

Internships for IT students must meet additional requirements:

  • The internship assignment has a solid research component, appropriate to the student's course of study.
  • The intern is given sufficient time to write an internship report or thesis.
  • An internship supervisor is designated within the company to support the intern in the day-to-day execution of the project.

How it works.

Creating an account on UvA JobBoard for your organization is easy and free. Once the account is created, you will have the ability to create, edit and manage job postings.

Through your account, you can submit job postings. Before you submit your job posting, please check it carefully for the criteria listed below:

  • The vacancy is complete and describes the position and job tasks clearly.
  • It is clear for which student it is suitable.
  • There are no links or email addresses for applying in the vacancy. The link to respond to the vacancy is at the respond button.
  • Each job posting consists of a maximum of one position. If you wish to submit a job posting for multiple positions, we ask that you make a separate submission for each position.
  • Please select up to four areas of interest to keep the filters appropriate and focused on the desired background of the student.

Every job posting is checked

Your submitted vacancy or internship will be sent to the moderators. They will check whether it meets the requirements set by the UvA. You will always receive an email that the vacancy has been published or that changes are required. If any changes are needed, we will clearly indicate which ones are. After this you can modify the vacancy yourself on the points requested by the UvA.

Should you make any changes after approval, these changes will automatically be sent to the moderators for approval again.

For responding to or publishing a job order we aim for a response time of maximum 2 working days.
